The Love Your Block model is based on the idea that engaged communities are less likely to let their neighborhoods fall into blighted conditions, and can act as a powerful force in preventing crime and other negative behaviors. We believe that by connecting residents to city leaders & community organizations, we can create solutions that make our neighborhoods better places to live. Whether that means converting a vacant lot into a functional space, painting a mural, or recruiting volunteers to help older residents make simple home repairs- Love Your Block offers a variety of services to make changes that improve life in the City of Buffalo.
Love Your Block is made possible with support from Cities of Service. Cities of Service is a nonprofit organization that helps mayors build stronger cities by changing the way local government and citizens work together. Cities of Service helps coalition cities tap into citizen insights, skills, and service to identify and solve critical public problems. Founded in 2009 by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Cities of Service supports a coalition of more than 250 cities, representing more than 73 million people across the Americas and Europe.
